I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke up and was not happy. Intermittent, localized rains have fallen through many evenings and the mornings are filled with the dawn chorus, the smell of petrichor and a warming atmosphere of what the day brings as we settle into the middle of summer.
The natural world has the power to uplift, to bring people down to their essence and instil appreciation and gratitude for one’s surroundings.
