Imagine chartering your flight into a private game reserve, settling into your elegant and secluded hideaway in a prime location, and staying your way on your own schedule, while reconnecting with your loved ones. A truly luxurious experience curated especially for you.
This is all possible with the launch of our exclusive Kingfisher Villa, which offers a luxury bush getaway for family and friends to come together and enjoy a private safari experience. An easy two-and-a-half hours’ drive from Johannesburg to our magnificent setting in the Waterberg, an airstrip also caters to our guests who prefer to fly in.
Over the last few years, we’ve seen an increase in the demand for exclusive-use, luxury stays, and this global trend has evolved into a preference for smaller properties, such as villas and private residences. Our exclusive Kingfisher Villa ticks this box.
Set overlooking the Mvubu Dam, the contemporary bungalow-style accommodation offers five luxury suites. Renowned, award-winning interior designer Esley Georgiou has created comfortable, African-inspired spaces that merge with, and reflect the beautiful natural surroundings, while harnessing the expansive views with many floor-to-ceiling windows.
Fine furnishings are combined with natural wood, and the elegant décor in neutral tones allows statement artwork and focal points, such as fireplaces, chandeliers and large mirrors to come to the fore. It’s uber luxe and exudes glamour.
Other features include a rim flow pool, a boma, and a state-of-the-art entertainment centre, while the most unique and rather romantic touch is the swings made for two on the wooden deck, suspended from the high thatched ceiling.
While many of our guests opt to dine at our lodge, a private chef and butler are always on hand at Kingfisher Villa to ensure concierge-style service as attentive or discreet as you prefer, while meals can be served anytime, day or night.
An Out of Africa experience
The Mabula Private Game Reserve is home to such species as lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, cheetah and hyena, in addition to more than 300 bird species. Guests have access to 120 square kilometres of African bush to explore on their own schedule with a private safari vehicle and personal guide. The team at Mabula Private Game Reserve is passionate about conservation and involved in numerous projects, both on-site and in the greater Waterberg area.
One such project was the recent introduction of a breeding pack of African wild dogs, also known as African painted dogs, which are among the most endangered mammals in the world. As our guest, you’ll have the rare privilege of encountering these striking-coated, bat-eared, long-legged canines in their natural habitat, and be able to take part in some of our conservation activities.
Alternatively, we offer hot-air ballooning over the reserve, which offers you the unique opportunity to view game from above, or you could enjoy horse riding or quad biking through the property.
Our team is looking forward to welcoming you to Kingfisher Villa and our magnificent reserve. An unforgettable, immersive experience awaits.
