Secret lives of animals – BBC Culture

Former Nature Photographer of the Year, Jayaprakash Bojan, leaves the camera tech behind on a trip to Mabula Game Reserve in South Africa.

Jayaprakash, who was born and raised in the hills of Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu, developed a respect for nature early in life. He realised early on, he says, that “words fail me”, but when you can take pictures as breathtaking as his, words are unnecessary.  After 18 years in the corporate world he now spends his days travelling the world, camera in hand, creating images that are designed to communicate his conservation message.

This time, Jayaprakash is on a slightly different photography expedition. Follow him as he explores the Mabula Game Reserve in South Africa with just the Oppo Reno 2 smartphone, producing some incredible images.

“In the past few years I have always tried to create new perspectives and more importantly tell a story or as message through my pictures that could help conservation. Over the years, I think I have matured as a photographer, but at the same time it’s a journey and it only gets better with time on the field.”

Inspired by nature, shot on Oppo.
